CASODEX 50MG TABLET contains Bicalutamide, an anticancer drug used in the treatment of prostate cancer.
CASODEX 50MG TABLET works by inhibiting the effects of androgens (male hormones) such as testosterone that increases the growth of prostate cancer cells.

The side effects of the medicine make it necessary for regular checkups and monitoring by medical advisor.
It is advised that the Casodex be administered 1 hour before meal or 2 hours after your meal. Casodex has adverse reactions to certain types of food resulting in serious side effects such as high blood pressure, muscle weakness, paralysis, and breathing difficulties. The medicine needs to be strictly administered on empty stomach on advisement from the doctor.
Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited to patient undergoing administration of Casodex.
Use as prescribed by the physician
The recommended dose for CASODEX therapy in combination with an LHRH analog is one 50 mg tablet once daily (morning or evening), with or without food.

Cases of death or hospitalization due to severe liver injury (hepatic failure) have been reported post-marketing in association with the use of CASODEX.
Hepatotoxicity in these reports generally occurred within the first three to four months of treatment. Hepatitis or marked increases in liver enzymes leading to drug discontinuation occurred in approximately 1% of CASODEX patients in controlled clinical trials.
Not recommended for use in pediatric patients or females.
Casodex can cause fetal harm, effective contraception methods must be used by patient under the administration for prevention of transfer of medication through bodily fluids.
Do not donate sperm during administration of the medicine. Refer a doctor before donation.

It is best to take this medicine at the same time each day, in the morning or in the evening. This medicine should be started at the same time as treatment with a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone
